Can you see better through the eye of a camera?

Photography can be an expensive hobby, I'm going to tell you because if you are interested I want you to be prepared to make some hefty investments...
On that note, it's also worth every single penny! Have you ever had a word on the tip of your mouth but forgot it at the last moment, well that won't happen in photography because anything that you want to remember is just a snap away.

I love to take pictures, its a hobby I got from my dad and it's something that him and I use to bond over. Him and I both love the ocean and share many free spirited ideas such as underwater photography. National Geographic has a beautiful display of underwater photos that will blow you away.

SPIN!

Alright guys, last week was sand art this week we're changing projects. Spin art is this weeks topic, also known as blotting. It's an invigorating project. I tried it before and I was infatuated with how free I felt after, I was instantly caught up in the mess and splendor of it all. Try for yourself heres what you'll need:
salad spinner (or a spin art machine)
bottles of paint (washable tempera)
small paper plates 6"

What You Need:
I set my salad spinner on a table in front.
Pick 3 colors and pour them onto the paper plate that you have placed into the spinner. Then you get to spin!
You'll have such fun! No one knows what the outcome will be until I lift the top off of the spinner and then the ooohs and ahhhs begin!
These turn out beautifully!

So Sand?!?!?!

Sand, no longer just something that gets in you pants when you're at the beach, sand is now art! Sand art is the practice of modeling sand into an artistic form, such as a sand sculpture, sand painting, or sand bottles. A sand castle is a type of sand sculpture resembling a miniature building, often a castle. Watch this video and you will never look at sand the same way again! Sand art is not only for sand castles but as you saw also amazing canvases and drawings. Not in the sand but with it. Hopefully you have opened you mind to art with my blog, I hope I can keep expanding it. Enjoy.

Pop Art.

Pop Art is also known as popular art. It was at its peak in the 1950's. Andy Warhol among many others were celebrated in this era of art. It originated in England and migrated here in the early '5o's. Most of the time graffiti artist use pop art as their style. It is a real sketchy style. Many young artist and teens voice through this style because it is so free. It is so subliminal there is always some thing hidden around the corner of the canvas.

Any way, I love this style. Not only can it be painted but you can create stencils and sculptures. It's the bigger the better with this case.

Josh Keyes

Josh Keyes is an artist that I look up to. He was born in Tacoma, Washington. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon. In 1988 he graduated from Yale and went on to pursuit his dream job of being an artist.
The paintings that are posted are called NP Entangle 2, and NP Burst. Both are oil paintings and are done at a very large scale.
Josh Keyes studied computer graphics and modern art, which is evident in the art that is shown.

Today's lesson is...

Today is all about cubism. It was the most influential movement of art from 1907 to 1914. Cubism stated in African culture. It was made famous through out time, Pablo Picasso was one of the most important artist of this movement. He was heavily criticized because he was one of the first to get this movement started. I have tried this style and it's not as hard as it seems. If you want to try a canvas of your own all you'll need is, a paint brush, two or three primary colors (paint), and a plain canvas.

Abstract

Abstract art happens to be my favorite solemnly because its a new view on life. It's so much fun to paint, all you really need is a piece of canvas and a few of your favorite colors. Abstract art is the best way to remove all stress from your life. You can do what ever you want, what ever your feeling and it'll be the best piece of art in the whole world. Abstract is all over but it's all different. Pablo Picasso is the best artist in this case, well to me he's the best all around. It's all over the place...it's in dances and in paintings and in foods.

One of my Favorite Artist....

PABLO PICASO-
He's always been one of my favorites as cliche as that sounds.
Here's pne of my favorite pieces.
I love the coloring and they way the characters in this scene look so comfortable.
He really paved the way when it comes to me...i look up to his style allot and I strive to be like him in his scene of style.
The sketch is called "Portrait of Francosie" he used pure charcoal and it was done on flat paper. It's usually easier to sketch on regular paper than paper that has pours, only because its easier to smear and push lines, its also easier to create the details and make new shadows.

some pics

This is one of my favorite pictures... it is a bunch of writers in a group, it shows the community factor of this form of art. I know I've writing about graffiti allot but I finally got the pictures i wanted to show you so enjoy. Okay these are some characters, they are very much like political cartoons. In fact, many "writers" have a steady focus on just characters. By the way, graffiti artist are also known as writers because thats just what they do, they write their name and when people see they know everything about that name and the person that comes along with the person that comes along with that name. The name you chose also tells allot about the person, it's normally got to do with that persons feelings or personality or a certain characteristic that person possesses. In the previous image you saw a bug getting squished by a man or a boy, you can infer that the writer feels that he's being squished by what ever he or she is dealing with. This piece is really abstract and i happen to really love it. The picture itself is not one of my favorites but this one piece is outstanding.

The Pen the Sword & the Paintbrush

Well we know that the pen is mightier than the sword but where does that leave the paintbrush? Where does that leave the spray cans and clays? Pleanty of times I sit and write about how I'm feeling but that isn't always enough, sometimes I need a bigger canvus than just an 8 by 11 sheet of paper. I always have a big canvus ready for whenever I have the time to paint it. When I paint I feel like I can create new words by using shapes and colours. The paint just flows from me onto what ever I'm painting on. All the surpressed emotions that were in the far regions of my brain just glide from my hand to the clean slate and just like that I'm liberated. Many street artist take this feeling to the next step. They go above and beyound anything I can do. They set goals and standards for themselves that are normally unthinkable to most anyone else...they do this for many reasons. To be heard or seen or understood, what ever the reason you can tell right away just by looking at someones piece how they felt and that emotion is now understood. Hopefully I will be able to post some of my pictures in the nearby feauture so you can see what I mean. I will go into further details in the captions of the photos. Check this link out for some awesome pictures...

Why Art?

Art is anything and everything around us. It is what we see and what we feel. Art can convey emotions and create emotions most people didn't know they had. I know that when ever I go to an art museum or gallery no matter what style of art it is I find myself emerged in a whole other world. When you look at a piece you can tell so much about the artist; you can infer what he or she was feeling during the course time it took to finish that work of art. There are artist in all shapes and forms. There are so many styles and regions of art. Graffiti, Portraits, Abstract, Oils, Statue, the list is endless. Emotions are expressed in art all the time and all around us. Painting is a way i express anything I feel. Painting is a way of speaking that anyone can relate to. It is a universal language. Here is one of my favorite links for Photography.
